BRE Global is in the process of updating BREEAM UK New Construction 2011 with a plan to launch the 2014 version of the scheme later this year.

Their aim is to improve and evolve the existing scheme technically and structurally. In undertaking this update the BRE have:

Considered ongoing feedback received from BREEAM users, specifiers and other stakeholders

Made changes to account for updated standards

Reviewed and updated the criteria

This helps ensure BREEAM remains flexible and continues to recognise and reward ‘best practice’ in sustainable construction.

Caldwell have provided some comments on the new technical manual and hope these will be assessed and included by the BRE in the final release
