The proposed works at 111 Westminster Bridge Road include demolition of existing building and construction of new mixed use development comprising an apart–hotel building, 10–storey rear section and 7–storey wing at the front to Westminster Bridge Road, a restaurant, retail facilities and office suites at lower levels. The existing site consists of a 1950s office block once known as ‘Costain House’, and the premises are currently vacant. No. 111 Westminster Bridge Road is located within the Lower Marsh Conservation Area, which has a unique and historical character and benefits from a number of listed and proposed listed buildings along Westminster Bridge Road and Lower Marsh Road.
