Cambridge Student Accomodation
Caldwell are delivering BIM level 2 on this new 325 bedroom post graduate accommodation. Lot 5 is part of phase one in an overall 1.2 billion investment by the University of Cambridge to create a new district & extension to the city centred around a mixed use academic & urban community. Site wide district heating provided through an onsite energy centre with connections into each Lot & a future miniature district heating scheme within the Lots. North West Cambridge is proposed to have health centre, shops, primary school, hotel, care home, private homes, university staff homes & research facilities.
Prior to appointment we received the pre tender BIM Execution plan which outlined the client BIM requirements at Design Stage & Post–Handover stages, planned data–drops in line with RIBA stages & proposed Common Data Environment.
Upon appointment we completed a Supplier Capability Assessment for Building Information Modelling.
During monthly BIM meetings the University of Cambridge requested a Model production Development table & a revised data structure table.
Following internal discussions within the design team a revised MPDT was issued detailing the appropriate Level of Model detail at each data–drop outlining the proposed Level of Information at handover stage was agreed to be presented based on the COBie parameter list structure.
