The consented mixed use redevelopment comprises of: 575 purpose built student beds over 9–storeys in a courtyard arrangement, 265–bedroom four–star hotel with bar, restaurant and business centre facilities, 20,000 sq ft of ground level large format retail / leisure or restaurant space, Generous landscaped amenity spaces at ground, courtyard and roof terrace levels.

The 185,000 sq ft of student accommodation will be operated by Unite Students, a leading provider of student housing and Dalata Hotel Group plc has committed to a 35–year lease of the flagship Maldron hotel.

This £100m investment in the heart of Newcastle Upon Tyne will support some 780 jobs directly through the construction period and a net longer term gain of up to 153 new full time jobs on the site.
